I make custom, handmade, split-cane fishing rods. The total cost will depend on your specifications.
All rods come with a rod bag and aluminum rod tube.
***Basic Fly Rod: 2 piece/1 tip fly rod with your choice of taper, length, and weight. The rod will come with Nickle-Silver ferrules, choice of cork handle, one thread color of your choice, aluminum reel-seat with choice of wood insert, standard stripping, wire snake guides and hook-keeper. Cost: $800.00
***Deluxe Fly Rod: “The Basic Fly Rod” with 2 tips, the addition trim wraps (color of your choice) for each guide wrap, and choice of snake or single foot guides. Cost: $1125.00
***Deluxe Fly Rod 3 piece/2 tips: Cost: $1375.00
***Deluxe Fly Rod w/Mortis Handle: “The Deluxe Fly Rod” with mortise handle inserts of your choice (bamboo, walnut, maple, tiger maple, cherry, or alder). Cost: $1375.00
***Deluxe Fly Rod (Mortis Handle) 3 piece/2 tips: Cost $1575.00
***Deluxe Fly Rods can be upgraded with intermidiate wraps, Nickle-Silver reel seat hardware, blued ferrules, Agate stripping guide, Fuji SiC, Torzite, or Proof FF Silicon Nitride guides. Cost is subject to parts pricing and availability. The extra cost will be determined and agreed upon after the deposit is paid.
***More Custom Options
If you want a completely custom rod, you can choose more options. Mortise handle with matching mortise reel seat insert, spiral trim wraps, multiple wrap and trim wrap colors, and other options. Some rods can be built with 2 different tips (1 light tip for dry flies and 1 heavy tip for nymphs/streamers). Additional cost will be determined after the deposit is made.
***Spinning/Casting Rod: 2 piece/1 tip rod with Nickle-Silver ferrules, choice of cork handle, one thread wrap color of your choice, carbon fiber reel-seat, and standard guides (casting or spinning guides) and hook-keeper. Cost: $800, $950 with single Trim Wraps
***Spinning/Casting Rods can be upgraded with blued ferrules, Fuji SiC, or Torzite guides. Cost is subject to parts pricing and availability.
***Spinning/Casting Rods can be upgraded with blued ferrules, smoke chrome, Fuji SiC, Torzite, or Proof FF Silicon Nitride guides. Cost is subject to parts pricing and availability. The price will be determined after the deposit is paid.
If you want to discuss options and cost of your rod before you pay the deposit, there will be a $25 consultation fee. If you decide to purchase a rod, the $25 will be applied to your deposit.
A 50% deposit is required before I start making your rod. The balance will be paid before I ship the rod.

“Started” means I’ve flamed the bamboo culm for your rod. If you request your deposit returned after the rod is started, I will deduct all costs including labor, shipping, parts, and materials from your deposit.
